In this song, she sings …zhe yang shou…ou…xi, she just prolonged the sound of it. When singing songs in Mandarin, some sounds may change a bit, even the tones are not that clear, but because she prolonged the sound you can clearly hear that it’s “sh-ou xi”

Btw, in Mainland China this word is usually pronounced as “shu2xi1″.

Like in some other words for example the word “jiu4″(就) from Wo3 jiu4 shi4（我就是）-”I am”, “that’s me” or ming2tian1 jiu4 hui4 chu1 tai4yang2(明天就會出太陽)- what i like in songs is that you can clearly hear that it’s pronounced as “j-i-o-u”, “not “j-i-u” as it appears in pinyin.

So in this regard, songs are very helpful in learning a language.

Hi Serge,

First of all thanks for the great service, ive only been learning Mandarin for about 10 weeks but having been flying away with it mainly due to your site. Just one question if I point to about 15.34 - 15.55

You say
Nide xiaorong zhe yang shouxi

But it sounds like she sayS
Nide xiaorong zhe yang shou (XXX) xi (something like - shou rong xi)

Can you confirm because it doesn’t sound like she’s saying just shouxi
